"I had a last mini snafu with my actual reservation and was told upon arrival my reservation was not valid as location does not use Expedia. Immediately I was able to find another booking and made same day reservation at Hotel Federico II. I immediately called hotel after reservation was made and they set up an adjoining room to accommodate our family and even set up a rolling bed to accommodate our five people. The included breakfast was quite impressive and the accommodations were very relaxing. My husband and I was able to enjoy alone time at the bar. It was very peaceful. Staff was always kind and helpful with what we needed. "

"Pros: - Hotel room was clean - Good WiFi connection - Great shower water pressure - Balcony - Helpful Staff - Good AC - Decent Breakfast included with the room rate - Across the street from the beach - Walkable area - Safe area around the hotel Cons: - The hotel is about 15 mins away from historical center and the train station, not too bad. But when you have heavy luggage in the hot heat seems longer lol. - FYI: To get to the historical center or train station from and to the hotel, you have to walk through these underground long tunnels to get to the other side of town. I went during the Summer Jamboree Festival, so there was a lot of activity and traffic still during midnight-AM hours. Although I felt the city to be safe, as a “solo woman” traveler walking late at night back to and from the hotel, it can be a bit creepy when there isn’t much traffic very late at night. - There is no nearby public transportation near the hotel, which is a bummer. Closest public transportation is 15 mins away by foot. "

"Incredible experience to stay in such an old but yet well maintained building. Our room was huge and well thought out with amazing views. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Restaurant food was delicious and breakfast top class. "Check in was a nightmare - nobody there to receive us. Instead, we had to key in all our information outside the hotel which was not user friendly. We had to reenter information several times before we could get it to work properly, and also scan our passports etc. I called the number but did not reach anyone to answer our questions about how to solve the glitchy keypad entry issues. We were lucky that someone who works there happened to come by and helped us retrieve our key from a locked box that was different than all the other key boxes and she didn't know how to open it. She called someone and someone answered, and she got help. The room was fine, had a nice view, so were satisfied with our stay once we finally were able to check in. HOWEVER, now upon reviewing my credit card statement, I was charged TWICE for the stay! Please arrange a refund, and perhaps you should even consider refunding part of the cost of staying there due to this and the other problems I outlined! "
