"Amazing house. Very comfortable. Minor issues were the pillows weren’t the softest and we had to buy our own beach towels. Aside from those two things, Sky Blue Villa is the perfect place to stay. We will stay there again next time we are on Okinawa. "

"Great place. Small, but clean. Felt safe and secluded. Very walkable area, several good restaurants nearby. Quiet at night. Loved having a washer. No dryer, but clothes rack provided and it was sufficient. Toilet room smelled of mildew, but that was my only complaint. View from back sliding door was brush with a sliver of ocean. Perfect for feeling isolated and quiet. Good communication from host, highly recommended place. Everything I was looking for."

"Easy 10 out of 10. If you can speak a little bit more Japanese, you will easily get 11 out of 10 for your own experience. Super friendly staffs and modern deco. I think we will recommend this resort to anyone going to the Okinawa."
"A true oasis in Okinawa. The room was exquisite. The view to die for. The pool was inviting and comfortable. The spa was amazing. While the dining was limited, we did enjoy the grill. Bucket list destination and deserving of a return visit "
"The people at the front desk did an excellent job, checking us in. They were very friendly, professional, and we’re very helpful in terms of helping us with the shuttles to and from the airport."
"> The place was quiet, clean, and very comfortable.
It was also super convenient with restaurants, cafes, and a supermarket nearby.
Above all, the host was extremely kind and helpful.
I’d love to come back again, maybe next time with my colleagues for a workshop. 😊"
"The apartment was very modern and clean. There are some local restaurants and supermarkets and we used the local buses to get around although a car would have been much better"
"Very good price for the location. A little bit hard on the back if you're not used to sleeping on a Japanese style futon(i didn't personally mind it, just a warning)
Lots of nice restaurants in the area and aharen beach is just a short walk away, and it's gorgeous!
One downside of Aharen is there's only one small convenience store, and it closes quite early, so make sure to bring snacks and amenities"
"I was immediately impressed with the image of the exterior, but was truly amazed when I saw how flasslessly maintained, up-to-date and clean the interior was. This is a remote island, so I was expecting something rustic, instead I got 5-star cleanliness and amenities. The staff were nice and one gentleman, Yuusuke always particularly awesome. In a major North American city this hotel would be 5x the price if not more. Also I got the Sashimi platter in the hotel restaurant at a reasonable price. Thanks Hotel Kanaloa!"
"Hotel Nikko Alivila – 5 Stars
Hotel Nikko Alivila is a fantastic resort in a prime location, situated mid-island in Okinawa. It offers the perfect balance—easy access to the quieter, scenic northern areas, yet still close enough to Naha for cultural sites like the Okinawa Peace Memorial Museum and some downtown excitement.
The hotel itself is packed with amenities and activities. There’s a stunning white sand beach with crystal-clear water, paddleboarding, Sea-Doo rentals, and even tubing behind boats. The pool is spotless, and the tiki bar serves great cocktails in a laid-back setting.
We stayed on the top floor of the North Wing, and the sunset views over the chapel were absolutely breathtaking—don’t miss it if you can book this room!
Dining is excellent. We tried the Ryukyu/Japanese restaurant on-site, and the food was both authentic and delicious. Just next door, there’s a shopping center with a cozy coffee bar (surprisingly playing country western music!) and some great casual eats like burgers, burritos, and sandwiches.
The staff were phenomenal—genuinely attentive, friendly, and abundant. You feel very well taken care of from the moment you arrive.
One tip: rent a car. There’s no public transit nearby, and taxis or Ubers would add up quickly. I was a bit nervous about driving on the left side, but it was easy to get used to—and totally worth it for the flexibility.
In summary, this hotel exceeded expectations. "
