"Beautiful room with a lot of space, high ceilings, sumptuous decor and a touch of local pride. I had a room with a great view, a luxury bathroom and all the trimmings. A huge, comfy bed let me get a good night's sleep. Staff at reception and at breakfast were welcoming, friendly and efficient. I also really like that I can so easily walk to this hotel from the train station. I've stayed here on several occasions and it's been consistently excellent. I've stayed in several other hotels in Dundee and think the Malmaison is the best option."

"Excellent, well proportioned room with very comfortable bed, good bathroom with first-rate shower, and well equipped kitchenette. Breakfast buffet was also very good (although the quality of coffee could be improved). We found free overnight parking at the East Port car park about 50m from the hotel."

"LOVED: The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The room was AWESOME! I loved the bed, soft and comfy, cozy! Nice size bathroom and very light and pretty. Huge closet and plenty of shelves. Room even had an in-room safe and a full size fan. I didn't use either one, but still unexpected. The view from my room was so nice out of big beautiful windows that could be opened! It overlooked the back of hotel and you could see the lovely rooftops and flowers and distant hills. So, gorgeous! The pool was a very nice size. They have a gym area that looked very nice with many machines. I didn't use that area though, I only used swimming pool and sauna which were very good. They have an on-site bar area and bakery items and a front sitting area, inside and out. All were very good. Disappointed only with three things: One, their jacuzzi was not working. Two, I didn't realize my room was upstairs when I booked. They do not have ground floor rooms. Lastly, during my stay, there was no restaurant open in the hotel the entire week. Another guest said the chef had an accident and they didn't have anyone else to cover. The area is very rural, so no close restaurants much. I ate from SPAR mostly. lol Food delivery was an option that I was able to use a couple times, but it arrived cold, of course. If you have a car and not handicapped, possibly not as much of an issue, though. But I didn't and I am. "

"The bed here was very comfortable and much better than numerous Travelodges we've stayed in recently. Despite it being a twin turned into a double the join wasn't very noticeable and the mattress was very comfortable. The only gripe for me was the shower head did look aged and the drain in the wet room didn't clear the floor quickly enough so you're stood in 2inches of water by the time you've finished but grab bars in all the right places. As a wheelchair user I found everything very accessible and would stay again. You do need to go into the pub for check in and handing the key back. We didn't eat there but did plan to, maybe next time! "
