"Friendly and helpful, picked me up from train station and took me to Narita. Very quiet, took a nice walk around the area, across the street from rice paddies. "

"Property very clean, and staff was very nice. We could enjoy the onsen with ocean view in the room. It's far from the city but overall, my stay was very quiet and relaxing. Recommend to take a taxi from the JR Choshi station, so you don't need to wait or worry about the schedule of the CD line. It's easy when going back to Tokyo, cuz the bus stop is right in front of the hotel."

"It’s an older hotel, not located anywhere convenient or near major sightseeing spots, but quite nice. Hardly any foreign tourists when I stayed, so if you want to experience the good old Japan (that is becoming increasingly difficult to find), here is the excellent option."

"Love the customer service!! They were very helpful even though we had a language barrier. They even used their phones to translate for us. Would recommend staying there because of the staff! "

"This traditional merchant house converted hotel is lovely. We own the entire building with two floors. One tiny living room on the ground floor, a bath house, a separate toilet near the entrance, along with a spacious bathroom with the second living room on the second floor. It’s airy and full of scent of wood. However, the bedroom is facing the road without sound proof windows, it was very noisy throughout the night. "

"Supreme view on the sea and nearby lighthouse - very scenic, makes it difficult to leave the great rooms. Friendly and accommodating staff, very manageable even as foreigner. Takes a bit to get there, but definitely worthwhile for a few days."

"The rooms are not the latest equipment, but they are well maintained and in good condition. The free parking lot is large and very good. The staff is friendly and helpful."

"A very pleasant and clean hotel, it is beautifully maintained and the staff is friendly and go above and beyond to assist. If we come back to the area, this is the hotel we will want to stay in again. It is within a nice ten minute walk to a bustling market with great food and shopping, very close to several rail stations, it has a great location. Highly recommend."

"If you are staying more than 2 days get a rental car. The hotel is very good at what it does, which is provide a relaxing atmosphere with an accessible onsen. The restaurants there are not really restaurants. Breakfast is a buffet of plentiful food, mostly Japanese but I believe a pure westerner could survive. There is no lunch service. The dinner is a set menu of classical Japanese fare, which after the second day becomes a bit tiresome, but doable. They also offered a bonus meal at 9pm of noodles and such. There is a modest happy hour from about 3pm to 8:30 pm which provides a variety of booze and snacks. Staff speaks no English, so be prepared for that, but they are very friendly. My Japanese is passable so I was able to get assistance from the staff to get a rental car and reserve taxis, etc. There is no laundry service and if you have a tattoo you mus cover it while in the onsen. I checked at other hotels with onsens and most don't allow tattoos at all. The location is up on a little hill away from anything walking distance. There is no safe walking path of significant length around the hotel that is not on a narrow road, so don't count on any walks. There is a tennis court but other than that not any place to get cardio. But if you are coming here you are not coming for that. I am including in the description so the reader knows what is there. I would come again for sure. "
"Easy check in process and polite staff members. I had an enjoyable stay. Quite a bit to do around the property, but it is definitely easier to access things with a car."
