Louis, futur Louis VI le gros, avait été associé au pouvoir par son père depuis 1100. Pour effacer la souillure de la présence d'hommes armés dans l'église, Jean, évêque d’Orléans fit une nouvelle consécration de l’église Saint-Liphard en 1104.
