"Nuno, the Manager, was well versed in English, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. He provided us good guidance to explore the hotspots in the area. I would not recommend driving through this area unless you are willing to accept a few surprises with the GPS and locating the various attractions, including your hotel! I would recommend walking within a 10 minute radius of this hotel to find and explore various restaurant choices for food. Don’t settle for the first one you see!There’s a beautiful 19th century castle within 15 minute driving range of this hotel. Highly recommend a visit quite a bit of interesting short hikes and springs and waterfalls around the palace. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying at the Palace hotel. Food there is pricey. And it is very secluded. Just get a couple of drinks or a sandwich at the palace hotel, which will allow me an opportunity to take some pictures of this architectural marvel! Highly recommend visiting the natural holy water, spring! Quite unique, and all of our travels are around the world! "

"Very comfortable beds no aircon but great windows to open for fresh mountain air. Bathroom needs a complete refurbishment very poor. "

"The house was large and spacious with more than enough space for our party of 6. The inside of the house was well maintained with nice furniture, TV, and pool table. It was in a very quiet neighborhood with small farms next door. Definitely need a car since there is nothing within walking distance. For the price, this was a good value.On the downside, it seems there is some maintenance work being done outside and the tools and garden hose were just left lying around and were not put away. Also, due to the neighboring farms there were a lot of flies that kept getting into the house even though we kept the windows and doors closed as much as possible."

"This property is exactly as described. For my friend and I it exceeded our expectations, yet was everything we'd hope it would be. Sara, the owner, is a very thoughtful, considerate and friendly person, I wish more people were like her.The property is very well presented and is clean, tidy and well kept. For those who this is important to, it smells clean throughout. I can see why this property has such high ratings and was the primary reason for us choosing the location. Luso is an amazing small town with quite a lot to do and see locally. Its real beauty is found when you wander through the small streets and up and down the hills. The architecture of the grand houses in and around Luso is simply breathtaking, whether they are abandoned properties or those being restored they are remarkable and a tribute to how important Luso was many years ago. I could go on and on about how beautiful the town is. I will be returning to Luso.The house that you will be stopping is is more than just a rental property, its a home where generations of people grew up and played as young chidren on that magnificent staircase and who then watched their children grow up to do the same. The feeling from this property is one of peace, kindness and love, where children grew into adults and watched theirs do the same. Sara has kept that feeling alive in this, her families property and you will feel that the moment you spend your first day there. I can't speak highly enough about this home and Luso."
