"Over all stay at the Monica was excellent. Staff are very attentive and welcoming. The room my wife and I had was spacious and over looked the park. Traffic could be a little noisy at times but that's us being picky, you are in a city after all. Breakfast is of good quality with plenty to choose from. Hotel is only 16 minute walk to Riga old town and about 30 minutes to the train station. It always feels like in Riga you're only ever 20 minutes or so walk away from anywhere you need to be. Stayed 6 nights at the hotel and so glad we did. It just so happened the week we had booked included Latvia's day of independence (18th November) so lots of events on the run up to and on the day it's self. What an experience. Would we go back to Riga - in a heart beat. Would we go back the the Monica hotel - absolutely we would."

"Fairly new and modern hotel. Room and bathroom were a good size and very comfortable. Hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great. The hotel was away from the old town but within walking distance. There is a large shopping centre very close but I did not find much in the way of restaurants in the area."
