Waterfront 5br/5ba Home: Elevator, Pool, Private Harbor. Close to Beach.

Amazing Sunsets!

Equipped with and elevator and beautiful furnishings and modern amenities, you'll love the panoramic views of the Pamlico Sound. Best of all, the island is so narrow that you can see the beach from our balcony. It's a short quarter mile walk or bike ride or pack your coolers and chairs and park at one of the many public access areas or get your 4WD permit and drive on the beach.

The pool area includes an outdoor entertainment area with a refrigerator, ice maker, charcoal park grill and outdoor shower. Enjoy the amenities of Black Dog Harbor, including fishing pier, gazebo, and basketball hoop. Bring your boat or rent jet skis -- we have a boat ramp and boat slips. At the end of the day, enjoy spectacular sunsets while you relax in this well-equipped home, with four king size bedroom suites with attached bathrooms plus one bunk room/media room. Hang out on the expansive decks overlooking the sound with a clear view of the stars. You'll find a well-equipped kitchen, spacious dining and living rooms and plenty of room to enjoy all that the Outer Banks has to offer.

Bad Buoy accommodates up to 10 guests (maximum of 8 adults).

Linens and bath towels provided. Pool heat is available for an additional charge.

The pool is open for the 2025 season from May - until around the end of October depending on weather. Pool heat is available for $100 per night.

OBX Vacation

We had a great time at Bad Bouy. It has a gorgeous view of the sound and an easy 8 minute walk to the ocean beach. It is located in a cute town that has all the necessities convenient to the house. More offerings are only 15 minutes away by car. Having 4 king bedrooms with full bathrooms was welcome for adult friends traveling. The pool got a lot of use.

Family Vacation

Overall, the property exceeded our expectations. At the beginning of our stay there was a pool heat issue, and elevator malfunction, and Dawn the property manager was quick to remedy these situations and compensate us fairly for the inconvenience. This place is unlike most other rentals in OBX, and I highly recommend staying here and plan to do so again!

Fun week

Very nice house, cleanliness is a clear priority. Enjoyed all aspects of our stay, and used the kayaks available. Houses are close together but everyone seemed very respectful of early/late hours of quiet time.

Beautiful View

One of the nicest areas on the Isles. This is the place to go if you want a local feeling. Tourist level is very low. Most times we were the only one on the beach within 100 yards. My sons enjoyed fishing on the Dock. This is our second year staying in black dog harbor and plan many more.

Beautiful house and location but no sound proofing between rooms.

Great house and location. Renters are expected to clean before leaving. Bring your own paper products (including toilet paper) because that is in limited supply. If you like coffee bring that too.

Bad Buoy for the win!!

We had an amazing time at Bad Buoy. The house was extremely clean, convenient to all locations, and beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed using the pool and kayaks. We couldn’t ask for a better place to go for a morning run!! Off road beach passes were easy to get online and we were very close to access ramps to drive on the beach. We loved staying at Bad Buoy and would absolutely recommend it! We can’t wait to go back already!

Beautiful Home

This home was very nice. The location was great. The property was clean and exactly as described in the listing. I would not hesitate to recommend staying in the house to anyone. The only downside I would mention, which wasn't enough to reduce the rating, is that the rules and procedures are onerous compared to other properties we've rented. Examples include a requirement to make all of the beds in the house before they can be used (clean sheets were in plastic bags laying on each bed), a 9am checkout, and a requirement not just that dishes be loaded in the dishwasher but that the dishwasher be emptied prior to the 9am checkout. The rest of the rules were relatively standard like emptying all the trash, stripping the beds and gathering all the laundry, but overall definitely the strictest we've ever seen in the 30+ properties we've rented.

Peaceful stay

It was our first time flying to OBX and we had a peaceful relaxing time . The house is just as pictured and offered beautiful views of the pier and the sunsets. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate as there was a lot of rainfall and we were unable to really enjoy all OBX had to offer, plus we were unprepared for the pesky midges which left us with over 50 bites making it difficult to enjoy the beautiful decks but all in all the house was beautiful and spacious and the pool was enjoyable and provided a much needed relaxing getaway .

Outer Banks

The house and view were spectacular. Our grandkids loved the small pool. There were a couple minor communication issues but they were resolved pretty quickly. There was construction on a new house right next door that was a little annoying but not much anyone can do about that. All in all a fantastic property.

Great house

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Big Buoy! The house was spacious, clean and had a well stocked kitchen. The views of the sound and sunsets in the back were amazing and we loved the free use of kayaks. The pool area was also very nice with ample seating. The only thing we would suggest is an upgrade to the outdoor grill- its pretty small, has no lid and with 8 people took a while to get food cooked. We would most definitely stay here again- quiet neighborhood, short walk or drive to the beach and easy to get to restaurants.

Beautiful comfortable home

Great stay in Salvo. The little biting Black Gnats outside are annoying, I’m sure it’s due to weather and time of year and not a house issue. The early morning garbage pick up was crazy. Not sure if there is a time ordnance but definitely should have one. Overall a great family vacation.

Wonderful Vacation
