In addition to the outdoor areas mentioned above, you'll also find a hot tub, a private dock, and a gas grill to enjoy during your lake vacation! Located just 45 minutes from Asheville in Nebo, this spacious and upscale lakefront home is the perfect place to get away and enjoy everything the Lake James area has to offer.
Ideally located near Lake James State Park, you can spend your days exploring nearby hiking trails like the Fonta Flora Loop, Overmountain Victory, or the Holly Discovery (complete with child-friendly activities). If you don't mind a bit of a drive, you can visit another state park nearby, South Mountains, for a more challenging hike like Chestnut Knob or a beautiful waterfall hike like High Shoal Falls before grabbing a refreshing craft beer at Fonta Flora's open-air brewery at Whippoorwill Farm a mere 5 minutes from the home. Also located in Nebo is the award-winning South Creek Winery, which welcomes pets and hosts numerous events throughout the year.
Take a scenic 20-minute drive to reach the quaint small town of Marion, where you can grab another cold one at Mica Town Brewing Company, fresh seafood & cocktails at Crabby Abby's Bar and Grille, or a handcrafted dish paired with the NC staple, Cheerwine, at McDowell Local. Please note: This house is dog-friendly with a $100.00 non-refundable fee per dog (maximum of two). Sorry, this home is not cat-friendly due to common allergies. This home is lakefront and offers its own private dock on Lake James to enjoy. While the home offers access to Lake James, it does NOT offer access to Camp Lake James amenities. The boat, kayaks, and jet skis permanently docked are NOT available to renters. Only the left side of the dock (left slip and outside) is available to renters. For boat rentals, contact the Lake James Neighborhood Store (3.2 miles away) or Noah's Landing (9.2 miles away).
