This lodge is roomy and delightful! Everything you need is here-Cable TV, WiFi, Washer & Dryer and more! This cabin is located in Manistique, Michigan which lies along the south shore of Indian Lake. Indian Lake is 8400 acre spring fed lake. The Lodge is 100 feet from the shoreline, behind cabins #5 & #6, with a great view and easy access to Indian Lake. Indian Lake is the fourth largest inland lake in the Upper Peninsula with an area of 8,400 acres. It is 5 miles long and 3 miles wide. Indian Lake has a maximum depth of 18 feet with about 90 percent of the lake less than 15 feet deep. Game fish include perch, walleye, northern pike, muskellunge, rock bass, smallmouth bass, bluegill, sturgeon and brown trout.
This vacation spot is great for swimming, boating, water sports, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, biking and sightseeing. Also, a cozy spot during hunting season. Easy access to launching your boat is best at the state park nearby (1/2 mile from the Lodge and a $4.50 per vehicle if you do not have a State sticker in your window.) We do recommend pulling your boat nightly due to the high winds.

By means of a self-operated observation raft, visitors are guided to vantage points overlooking fascinating underwater features and fantasies. Ancient tree trunks, lime-encrusted branches and fat trout appear suspended in nothingness as they slip through crystal waters far below. Clouds of sand kept in constant motion by gushing waters create ever-changing shapes and forms, a challenge to the imagination of young and old alike.

The Kewadin Casino: It is approximately 10 minutes (7 miles) from the Lodge. If you make reservations, they will pick you up at the cabin and return your group as well.

When the charcoal iron market began to decline, the Jackson Iron Company closed its Fayette smelting operation in 1891.
