We stayed at the hotel on Pownal Street the night of May 16th, 2025 for one night. We appreciated being able to check in early; however, the process felt disorganized. The staff member who greeted us mentioned she was new and didn’t know how to complete the check-in. Meanwhile, several other employees were chatting nearby, but no one stepped in to assist or offer a warm welcome.
We paid over $200 for a superior king room. The room itself seemed recently updated and was generally comfortable, but the bathroom had not been renovated to the same standard. The faucet in the shower didn’t seem to work properly, and the toilet was positioned so close to the door that it was awkward to use.
There was complimentary coffee and tea available 24/7, which was a nice touch — but unfortunately, there was no milk or creamer provided. We were told to ask the front desk for it, but when we tried, there was no one available. As a result, we had to head downtown instead and didn’t really get the full use of the amenities the hotel offers.
Overall, the main appeal of this hotel is its location — it’s within walking distance of the waterfront and everything in downtown Charlottetown. Just be aware that you’re mainly paying for convenience, not necessarily service or comfort.
